(01)
Project overview.
Redesigned the wellness check-in and dashboard experience for UBYou to create a more personalized and reflective mental wellness journey for students.
(02)
Challenge.
The existing experience oversimplified emotions with a single mood selection and lacked a clear, supportive dashboard structure.

(03)
Design.
During the redesign, I worked closely with the stakeholder to expand the check-in experience beyond single mood selection by introducing a broader range of emotions inspired by the feelings wheel to allow users to express themselves more accurately.

I added contextual follow-up prompts to help users better understand potential causes behind their emotions and encourage deeper self-reflection over time. I also designed reflective summaries that paired emotional insights with supportive resources and personalized wellness content.
To improve usability and engagement on the check-in process, I redesigned the dashboard to better prioritize weekly mood tracking, wellness resources, campus events, and emergency support within a clearer, more actionable experience.

(04)
Results.
Post-launch surveys revealed positive feedback around the app’s more modern and engaging experience. Students reported that the expanded emotions and follow-up prompts helped them track their moods more accurately, while personalized resources made the wellness experience feel more supportive and relevant.
